Every voter creates two identical ballots which are placed into two separate piles. The 1st paper ballot pile is counted any way your precinct wants. The 2nd paper ballot is counted and verified on the internet for everyone to witness.
With a take-home receipt, all voters can anonymously verify and watch over their ballot throughout the election.

The important part is that the voter is able to determine hacking right away. seeVote relies on the deterrent of automatic-fraud-detection by its voters to eliminate future attempts to corrupt the vote. Electronic equipment, without the use of seeVote, has no logical reference to possibly detect fraud or errors.
